Yes, my real name is Robert A Hartshorn.
I prefer to be called Al Hartshorn.
Al is short for my middle name
Want to know what it is? No I do not advertise it.

I started to use "Al" from the time I was driving trucks up and down the West Coast ( see left ). Every time I would arrive at a different dock and someone would call out for Bob, half of the drivers would answer up. At my main dock, if someone would call out for "Al", the only other person there to answer was the Dock Foreman and he was the one doing the calling.

So, I am now "Al"

I live in a small town called Tivon. It is located near Haifa. Yes, I live in Israel. I moved here with my wife ( she was from Israel ) and two half-size little ones back in 1985. I retired from the US Army, up-on their request.

On the left is our daughter ( Sharon ) with two of her pets. I believe one of them is called a husband. On the right is our son ( Hadar ) doing one of the things that he learned on his own.

I am now living by myself. Both my daughter and son returned to the States to continue their education at the Colorado State University. Shortly after, my second wife also left me. Above you can see me with my first wife. You will notice that I just love to play on her keys. I now have a very close helper, she can be found at the bottom of this page.

Now, I wish I could say that I am new and don't know all that much about computers. My problem is that I have been around computers from the 1950's. I spent my career with the US Army working on/with/about Computers. My background, training and experience qualified me as a Technical Computer Engineer. I became a Know-It-All NERD.

Now when I came in Israel, I was part of the National Group that worked for and then guided the way to providing the Internet to the general public. Just like any big headed nerd, I also programed myself out of a job. But I could not have been all that good, it took me 12 years to do it.

You could say that I was being paid to play with my toys and spend lots of time with my first wife (per my real wife). I spent a lot of time watching what was going on. I also had to look into most of the new things that came along and report on what I thought about it. I worked with the very first servers that came out and also helped with there development. That includes the Wonderful World of the Web.

One of the so called network opportunities that I noticed and looked into was the DHS Club. I looked around to learn more about the DHS Club and how it worked. Knowing a few things about a business, I felt that this was something different. When people asked about it, I would tell them to give this one a try.

Now I can tell you that I made a big, big mistake. Now why would I say that? For a very simple reason, I was not a member nor a VIP at the time. Would you agree that I missed the boat big time?

Now that the years have gone by, I stated thinking about what will I do with myself. I have traveled the world and I was not ready to sit in a chair on the porch. A great idea came to me. Why not listen to myself and take another look at the DHS Club.

On May 10, 2005 I was approved as a Membership Coordinator and VIP Team Coach or Builder Team Coach. I am now available and trained to help all Members/Want-to-be Members with any questions they may have about Joining for Free, their membership benefits, earning Reward Points, or upgrading to become a VIP.

I become a Team Captain the first part of 2006. As a Team Captain, I have even been able to do more to help all of my TEAM ( VIP's and Members ). This has been real great and lots of fun, too. I now am talking with people all over the WORLD!!! But it took me until March 13, 2006 and shortly after that I also became a Strategist Team Coach. Now I am close to becoming a Bronze Manager, at that time I will also be able to qualify as a Trainer Team Coach. then let the fun begin!

Unlike most of you, I did not start by becoming a Member and then taking a look at what this Club was about. I did not look for a sponsor to help me, I just went and signed up as a VIP. Back then it was very hard to get things moving, and a lot of us started looking for shortcuts. Let me be one of the first to tell you that shortcuts do not work. I had at one time what I thought was a good "TEAM" and I went on vacation. It did not take long to see what I did wrong. With out proper training, there were nothing but problems. I lost almost everything I had done.

4. Enjoy the simple things.
5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on.
   The only person who is with us our entire life,
   is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive.
7. Surround yourself with what you love, whether it's
   • family
   • pets
   • keepsakes
   • music
   • plants
   • hobbies
   whatever, your home is your refuge.
8. Cherish your health:
   • If it is good, preserve it.
   • If it is unstable, improve it.
   • If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is.
10. Tell the people you love that

    you love them
    at every opportunity

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.
